Water Main Break Causes Sinkhole in Maryland

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a water main break caused a sinkhole that has shut down a section of a road in Ellicott City.
The Howard County Police Department said in a news release that flowing water created a sinkhole underneath an unoccupied vehicle Wednesday. No one was injured, but police have asked residents to move their vehicles from the affected area.
The Howard County Bureau of Utilities is working to shut off the water main.
At this time, there is no estimate on when the water main or the roadway will be repaired.
