Flowfinity launches IoT monitoring platform for municipal infrastructure
(UI) - Flowfinity Inc. has introduced Flowfinity Streams, a remote monitoring platform designed to help utilities and municipalities better manage infrastructure by integrating IoT sensor data with operational workflows.
The platform combines sensor monitoring, work order management, compliance tracking and reporting within a single system, allowing operators to connect data from remote monitoring sites with field operations. According to the company, many municipalities have invested in sensor networks to track infrastructure conditions, but existing platforms often focus only on collecting data and issuing alerts rather than enabling operational response.
Flowfinity Streams uses a time-series database alongside a no-code workflow automation engine that enables utilities to configure monitoring and response processes without extensive custom development. The system can integrate data from SCADA systems and remote terminal units to support infrastructure monitoring, regulatory compliance and maintenance planning.
In one deployment, a large U.S. wastewater utility uses the platform to manage hundreds of remote monitoring locations and more than 1,600 channels of sensor data. Flowfinity said the system is intended to help utilities improve coordination between monitoring systems and field teams while supporting long-term infrastructure management and resilience.
