New Products: Equipment and technology for underground infrastructure

CASE Construction Equipment

CASE Construction Equipment launched three new D Series mini excavators in the 3-ton class engineered for compact performance and job-site versatility: the CX30D, CX34D and CX38D.

These machines are designed to deliver a balance of power, precision and attachment compatibility for work in confined spaces. Their zero-tail-swing design allows operators to work close to structures and other obstacles while improving productivity on busy job sites.

The new excavators feature an automotive-style cab with ergonomic controls, a suspension seat and enhanced visibility. Serviceability is improved through conveniently located access panels and a tilting cab that simplifies routine maintenance.

Each model includes different standard features to meet varying job-site demands. The CX38D comes equipped with a long arm, thumb bracket, hydraulic auxiliary flow control and electronic throttle control with auto idle. Both the CX30D and CX38D include an enhanced lighting package for improved visibility in low-light conditions. A two-piece roll-up front window is available on cab-equipped models to improve visibility and communication.

The excavators are compatible with attachments for digging, trenching, grading, vegetation management and material handling. An optional six-way dozer blade is available on the CX38D, while multifunction auxiliary hydraulics and optional third hydraulic circuits support a wide range of attachment applications. All three models include a hydraulic pin grabber coupler provision for faster attachment changes.


Condux International

Condux International introduced Copper Python Traceable Duct Rodders, giving contractors the ability to locate ducts and conduits through an integrated traceable copper wire core.

The new rod is available in 1/4-, 5/16- and 7/16-inch diameters and lengths up to 1,500 feet, depending on rod size. Optional footage markings are available to simplify field work.

Copper Python Traceable Duct Rodders are compatible with Condux's full lineup of rodding accessories and attachments. The company also offers standard Python duct rods and Mini-Cobra duct rods for light- to heavy-duty applications.

Each duct rod includes threaded end fittings on both ends and a tapered head, with optional accessories available for a variety of rodding applications.


Fiberscope

Fiberscope introduced the TRACER X20, a floating pipe inspection robot designed to inspect flooded, surcharged and silted pipelines where traditional wheeled or tracked crawlers cannot operate.

Designed for municipal wastewater, stormwater and industrial drainage systems, the amphibious robot uses a spiral-propulsion drive system that allows it to travel through water, mud and sediment without relying on traction against the pipe wall. This enables inspections without dewatering or bypass pumping.

TRACER X20 is designed for pipelines ranging from 24 to 157 inches in diameter and can travel as far as 6,700 feet in a single deployment. The IP68-rated system includes an HD pan-tilt-zoom camera with 10x optical zoom, 360-degree rotation, LED lighting and a rear-view camera. Optional sonar and 2D LiDAR are available for low-visibility conditions.

The system is intended to help utilities and contractors inspect flooded sewer interceptors, siphons, stormwater systems and other large-diameter pipelines without waiting for water levels to recede.


Vactor

Vactor introduced its patented JetRight Technology, a pressure management system that allows operators to set a maximum water pressure that the unit will not exceed regardless of throttle settings.

According to the company, the system helps improve both efficiency and safety by maintaining consistent jetting pressure during sewer cleaning and hydro excavation operations.

JetRight Technology is especially useful when lower pressures are needed, such as cleaning aging sewer lines or excavating around buried utilities.

Available on the Vactor 2100i, the technology allows operators to increase vacuum performance while maintaining consistent water pressure. The company said the system also helps protect infrastructure while reducing the risk of hydraulic overheating.

JetRight integrates with Vactor's IntuiTouch control panel and Multi-Flow System, allowing operators to adjust water flow and pressure as needed.

According to Vactor, the technology can be configured for different flow and pressure ratings, helping simplify operation while reducing guesswork in the field.
