Eastern Shore Natural Gas Receives FERC Approval to Construct Facilities in Delaware
Chesapeake Utilities Corp. announced that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved plans by Eastern Shore Natural Gas (ESNG), Chesapeake Utilities’ interstate natural gas transmission subsidiary, to construct pipeline and compression facilities to preserve the reliability and flexibility of its interstate pipeline system. The project is estimated to cost approximately $36 million.

The project will include 10.1 miles of pipeline, including 2.5 miles of 16-inch pipeline looping in New Castle County, DE and 7.6 miles of 16-inch pipeline looping in Kent County, DE and adding 1,775 horsepower of additional compression at ESNG’s existing Bridgeville Compressor Station in Sussex County, DE. Completion of the facilities are anticipated by the end of the first quarter of 2017.
