Siksika Nation selects Cross Cut Directional Boring for fiber optic rollout
(UI) — Siksika Nation in Alberta, Canada, is set to begin installing new fiber optic infrastructure to improve high-speed internet access.
Cross Cut Directional Boring LTD has been selected as the contractor for the project, which includes building a backbone network and installing residential service cables in various neighborhoods.
Construction is expected to start in about two weeks, with work hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The community should anticipate temporary lane closures during the installation process, which will utilize horizontal directional drilling and vibratory plowing.
Vacuum excavator trucks will be used to locate existing underground utilities. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
