New York's West Seneca receives $1.2 million boost for water upgrades
(UI) — Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) has announced the allocation of $1,229,360 in federal funding for essential water infrastructure improvements in the Town of West Seneca.
This funding, secured as part of H. Res. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, was passed by the House in a vote of 339 to 85.
Expressing his satisfaction with the allocation, Congressman Langworthy emphasized the significance of addressing aging water infrastructure in West Seneca. The project primarily targets Water District 8, serving residential areas, ensuring continued access to clean water. Langworthy highlighted the potential burden on families if the funding hadn't been secured, with residential water maintenance bills projected to increase significantly.
Supervisor Gary Dickson of West Seneca extended his gratitude to Congressman Langworthy and Senator Schumer for their bipartisan efforts in securing the much-needed funding. He stressed the positive impact of the funding on the town's budget and residents, particularly senior citizens. The project aims to replace sections of water main pipes prone to breakage, thereby enhancing water supply reliability.
This successful funding allocation reflects the collaborative efforts between federal, state, and local governments in addressing critical infrastructure needs. Congressman Langworthy's commitment to working alongside local officials underscores the importance of prioritizing projects that benefit constituents and bolster regional resilience.
