Arcosa Shoring Products launches new system to improve trench safety

Arcosa Shoring Products recently unveiled their patent-pending Convert-A-Shore system that makes changing a hydraulic vertical shore from a multi-cylinder shore to a single shore (and vice-versa) quick and easy.
“The current process of converting a shore from a double to a single cylinder shore requires specific tools, experience, and the potential to damage threads,” explains Joe Zylman, President of Arcosa Shoring Products. “With the Convert-A-Shore system, anyone with a basic knowledge of hydraulic shores can quickly change the number of cylinders on a shore in a fraction of the time of traditional methods.”
Convert-A-Shore is comprised of a set of exclusively designed hydraulic shore cylinder pads with quick-coupler valves on both sides of the cylinder pad, plus a more cut-resistant 37- or 59-inch color-coded connecting hose with locking quick-coupler fittings on both ends of the hose.
The simple process for changing out cylinders using Convert-A-Shore can be accomplished without tools even in less-than-ideal field conditions. The steps are intuitive enough that little or no training is required. Because the assembly of Convert-A-Shore equipped hydraulic shores is relatively easy, shores can be shipped disassembled, which may aid in reducing shipping costs.
