Liberty, PPM team up to scale CIPL pipeline rehab for gas utilities
(UI) - Liberty Sales & Distribution and Progressive Pipeline Management (PPM) have formed a strategic partnership to expand the use of cured-in-place liner (CIPL) technology for natural gas pipeline rehabilitation across the United States.
The collaboration combines Liberty’s sales network with PPM’s engineering and field execution capabilities, aiming to scale deployment of trenchless solutions for aging gas infrastructure. The companies will support utilities with project identification, technical evaluation, and full-service installation.
CIPL technology is designed to restore pressure integrity in existing pipelines by bonding a composite liner to the host pipe, reinforcing the system and sealing leak paths. The approach allows utilities to extend asset life while reducing excavation, project timelines, and surface disruption compared to traditional replacement methods.
Company officials said the partnership is intended to support long-term asset management strategies as utilities address aging infrastructure and reliability requirements across gas distribution networks.
