Jensen boosts concrete pipe, box culvert production with new Calif. facility
(UI) — Jensen Infrastructure has opened a new reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and box culvert manufacturing facility in Lockeford, Calif., expanding production capacity for underground utility and transportation infrastructure projects across Northern California, Northern Nevada and Southern Oregon.
The highly automated facility produces reinforced concrete pipe ranging from 12 to 120 in. in diameter for storm drainage, sanitary sewer and culvert applications, along with box culverts from 4 x 4 ft to 12 x 12 ft. The plant integrates automated concrete batching, reinforcement-cage welding, computer-controlled curing and quality inspection to support increased production and locally stocked inventory.
Jensen said the investment is designed to improve product availability and shorten lead times for contractors, engineers and public agencies. The company also noted customers can source reinforced concrete pipe alongside manholes, catch basins, vaults and other precast infrastructure products through its regional network.
The Lockeford facility also features a rooftop solar array expected to offset nearly all of the plant's annual electricity use. The expansion builds on Jensen's existing reinforced concrete pipe manufacturing operations in Nevada and Arizona while increasing production capacity for the Western U.S.
