Crescent Constructors wins Lewisville wastewater expansion project
The City of Lewisville, Texas, has awarded Crescent Constructors, an affiliate of Zachry Construction Corp., a contract to expand the Prairie Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project is the first phase of a long-term effort to increase treatment capacity and support continued growth.
The project will increase the plant's operating capacity from 12 million gallons per day (MGD) to 16 MGD through expansion of the aeration basin, rehabilitation of existing treatment systems and construction of a new blower building. The improvements represent the first step toward the city's long-term goal of expanding the facility to 20 MGD.
Work also includes rehabilitation of the plant's headworks, aeration basins and return activated sludge/waste activated sludge (RAS/WAS) building, along with related piping, electrical, controls and site improvements. Construction will take place while the facility remains in operation, requiring phased work and carefully coordinated shutdowns to minimize disruptions.
Construction is scheduled for completion in November 2028. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, Crescent Constructors joined Zachry Construction as an affiliate in 2025 and specializes in municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
