UI Business News: Equipment dealers, partnerships and expansions

Volvo

In an asset purchase, Tri-State Truck & Equipment, Inc. transferred the leases and inventory at five dealership locations in Montana and Wyoming that cover most of those states plus the western panhandle of Nebraska to TranSource Truck & Equipment Inc. The deal also includes Tri-State's Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks dealerships.

With their construction equipment headquarters based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, TranSource has been in business for over 60 years. This acquisition brings the company to 10 total locations. In its new Montana and Wyoming territories, TranSource will offer articulated haul trucks, excavators, wheel loaders, rigid haulers, compact equipment, compactors and a variety of services. In Nebraska, it will have a full offering of general-purpose equipment and compact machines, but not compactors.

TranSource has been a Volvo CE dealer in the Midwest since 2017.

"TranSource has been a strong and steady Volvo CE dealer, continuously meeting and exceeding market share,” said Scott Young, Head of Region North America, Volvo CE. “This territory expansion provides customers with more inventory flexibility, access to a larger rental fleet and more service capabilities. We’re proud to see their continued success.”

Felling trailers

Felling Trailers Inc. conducted its 13th annual online auction of an FT-3 drop deck utility trailer to benefit a nonprofit organization: Ivy’s Legacy Foundation. A winning bid of $5,900 secured the auction for Alex & Jess Hoffman, owners of Hoffman Haulers, LLC., based out of Sauk Centre, Minn. This year, the benefactor of the auction was Ivy’s Legacy Foundation.

"Ivy's Legacy Foundation has been assisting families in Central Minnesota for over a decade, ‘showing up’ for families during their most vulnerable moments," said Brenda Jennissen, President and CEO of Felling Trailers, Inc. "They've shown up for our own team members and their families when crisis hit, providing everything from funeral support to comfort baskets and financial support during cancer treatment. It's rare to find an organization that combines such practical help with genuine compassion. This auction allowed us to help multiply their impact, and frankly, it's an honor to be part of their mission. Thank you, Ivy’s Legacy, for being a part of our community support team."

The Hoffmans plan to add the trailer to their fleet for transporting smaller equipment and materials. Hoffman Haulers is a trucking and excavation company; their signature colors are green and black, making the Ivy's Legacy FT-3 the perfect fit.

PipeSense

The Canadian pipeline market now has access to a series of advanced asset integrity and maintenance solutions, following a partnership agreement between PipeSense and Monitor Emissions Inc.

U.S.-founded PipeSense, which develops and delivers critical pipeline solutions with speed and accuracy, has signed an exclusive agreement with Monitor Emissions, the Canadian industrial inspection specialist, for the provision of leak detection, pig-tracking, and hydrotesting technologies. Covering all provinces and territories across Canada, the agreement will enhance support for oil and gas pipeline operations nationwide, with a focused commitment to reducing fugitive emissions and minimizing pipeline leaks.

Indigenous-owned and a partner of pipeline and facilities construction and maintenance company Sundown Oilfield Services, Monitor Emissions has a reputable presence throughout the western Canadian marketplace. With the addition of PipeSense’s proprietary technologies to its offering, it is now in an even stronger position to enhance pipeline and facility maintenance standards and practices across the region.

For PipeSense, the agreement presents an opportunity to establish its ‘common-sense’ approach to rewriting the rules for pipeline integrity in a wider marketplace outside the U.S. The partnership will reinforce PipeSense’s commitment to protecting operations, surrounding communities, and the environment by supplying its PipeGuard, PipeTrack, PipeScan and PipeTest systems – all of which have been developed in-house by PipeSense’s experienced engineering team.

Through ultra-high-frequency pressure sampling, advanced machine learning, and artificial intelligence-enhanced dashboards, each technology has been proven to help operators reduce downtime, increase safety, and eliminate uncertainty surrounding leak location and severity.

DEVELON

DEVELON has expanded its presence in the Southeast with the addition of two new dealerships in South Carolina, The Ironpeddlers.

The Ironpeddlers will stock DEVELON heavy and compact construction equipment at its locations in Duncan and Florence, South Carolina. The Duncan store serves the Greenville and Spartanburg areas, while the brand-new Florence store serves the northeast and central regions of South Carolina.

“We were intrigued by DEVELON because of the product offering, namely the dozers and articulated dump trucks,” said Ben Miller, chief executive officer of The Ironpeddlers. “We were particularly impressed by the ‘intelligent’ excavators and dozers with integrated 2D and 3D capability. With the addition of the DEVELON equipment lineup, we can offer a full line of heavy and compact construction equipment to contractors in the Carolinas.”

Started in 1974 in Monroe, North Carolina, the company remains owned by three original founding families. Initially focused on used equipment and parts, the company transitioned to a dealer entity in 2017, serving customers with six locations in the Carolinas and a parts-only location in Kentucky.

“We’re pleased to announce this new partnership with a company that has been in business for more than 50 years,” said Morgan Stallings, senior director of dealer development and marketing at DEVELON. “The Ironpeddlers has a strong history of serving contractors in the Southeast, and our DEVELON machines will enable the dealer to meet their customers’ equipment needs, particularly the advanced features on our excavators and dozers.”
