Sheehan Construction’s Riess elected INGAA Foundation chairman
The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) Foundation’s board of directors elected Robert A. Riess, Sr., president and chief executive officer of Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company, as its new chairman. Riess will serve a one-year term which began on November 7, 2015.
In 2004, Riess rejoined Sheehan Construction after previously working for the company from 1991 to 1995. Two years later, Riess joined as a partner in the firm and began serving as CEO.
Riess’ early career included work with Texas Eastern Transmission Company’s construction department in various roles, including manager of construction and general manager of environmental services. He also served as vice president responsible for ARB Inc.’s underground division, consisting primarily of pipeline construction east of the Rocky Mountains. Riess also managed ARB Inc.’s horizontal directional drilling division and international operations.
Riess is a civil engineering graduate from the University of Missouri – Rolla and currently serves on the board of directors for the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA) and the board of directors for the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum. Riess serves as an UMR Ambassador and is a member of the Oder of the Golden Shillelagh at University of Missouri-Rolla.
On November 7, the INGAA Foundation’s board of directors also elected Tom Hutchins, vice president of Environment, Health and Safety for Kinder Morgan, as vice chairman.
The INGAA Foundation was formed in 1990 by the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America to advance the use of natural gas for the benefit of the environment and the consuming public.
