Phase 1B of the Rover Pipeline Can Begin Operations
Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. has received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to place Phase 1B of the Rover Pipeline project into service.
With the addition of the Phase 1B facilities, the Rover Pipeline is now capable of transporting up to 1.7 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, and shippers have access to six additional receipt points in the Marcellus and Utica supply basins containing an incremental receipt capacity of 2.45 billion cubic feet per day. The Rover Pipeline has been in partial service from Cadiz, Ohio, to Defiance, Ohio since Aug. 31, capable of transporting 1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.
The Rover Pipeline Project includes new interstate pipeline and related facilities extending from the Appalachian supply area to a proposed interconnection with Vector Pipeline, LP in Livingston County, Michigan. It will transport up to 3.25 billion cubic feet per day of domestically-produced natural gas to markets in the Midwest, Northeast, East Coast, Gulf Coast and Canada, with direct deliveries to Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, and into the Dawn Hub in Ontario, Canada, which includes a broader network of distribution points back into the U.S. The final phase of the project is expected to be in service by the end of the first quarter of 2018.
