Liberty VI continues fiber network construction work in St. Croix, St. Thomas
(UI) — Beginning on June 8 with Williams Delight in St. Croix, Liberty VI is advancing the development of its fixed fiber network with four additional projects on St. Croix and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI).
Liberty will begin work on projects at Donoe, WTJX Mountain Top, and Smith Bay on St. Thomas over the summer. The initiatives, which should be finished in around seven weeks altogether, will help the locals and companies in the previously mentioned regions.
The installation of fiber optic cables and underground conduits is part of the work that will be done at Williams Delight. In the neighborhood, this initiative will help about 1,101 clients. Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be the time of construction.
A capacity project in Donoe, St. Thomas, that will provide fiber and enhance mobile service to locals and businesses in the Charlotte Amalie region will get under way later this month thanks to Liberty employees. Soon, Liberty will give more information about this initiative.
The network's resilience is increased by burying the fiber cables, and it is also shielded from threats like natural catastrophes and vandalism efforts. The operation also employs a micro-trenching technology, which creates a 1 3/4-inch incision and, when feasible, makes use of existing ducts, greatly reducing pavement breaking and dust emission. To lessen the impact on the roads, personnel will also use additional subsurface technology.
There won't be much of an impact on traffic during the work. However, due to lane and part-road closures, locals and vehicles should prepare for delays and use caution when navigating the area's limited roads. To prevent impediments or potential damage, Williams Delight residents should park their cars on their homes rather than on the roadway.
