Lumos breaks ground on fiber optic network expansion in South Carolina
(UI) – Lumos ground in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, OneSpartanburg. With this expansion, thousands of homes and small businesses in Upstate S.C. will have access to Lumos' ultra-fast internet.
Lumos will utilize public and private funds for the expansion, including a $1.2 million grant from South Carolina's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Capital Project Fund Grant Program for development in Spartanburg County.
"Internet usage is growing rapidly year over year and will require a network of 100% Fiber Optic Internet to keep up with consumer and business needs going forward," said Lumos CEO Brian Stading. "We are proud to be growing across South Carolina, working with organizations and utilizing federal programs, like the American Rescue Plan, to bring fiber internet to communities in Spartanburg and the surrounding communities."

Lumos provides 100% Fiber Optic Internet to more than 300,000 homes and businesses across North Carolina, Virginia and, South Carolina footprint.
