Corpus Christi begins boring work for underground fiber installation on Yorktown Boulevard

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (UI) — Underground fiber installation is set to begin along Yorktown Boulevard near Brentridge Drive as Charter-Spectrum contractors start a new infrastructure improvement project this week, according to the City of Corpus Christi.

The work involves horizontal boring to install underground fiber across Yorktown Boulevard near 4033 Ranch Lake Drive. The project will take roughly three weeks, with completion expected by the end of October.

During construction, one northbound lane on Yorktown Boulevard will be closed for approximately 500 feet near Brentridge Drive. Motorists will continue to have access to Brentridge Drive throughout the project.

City officials said traffic control measures will be in place to protect workers and the public. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and exercise caution near work zones.

“All access to nearby neighborhoods and businesses will remain open,” the city said, adding that crews will work to minimize disruptions as the project proceeds.
