North Dakota Gets $240K for Pipeline Safety Programs

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded the state $240,000 for pipeline safety programs.
The federal funds were granted to reimburse the state for public safety programs, including inspection and enforcement of pipeline safety regulations, incident investigations and corrective actions to improve the safety and integrity of pipelines.
North Dakota’s U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven announced the funding.
Heitkamp says pipeline safety programs “will help keep communities across North Dakota safe.”
Hoeven says it’s important to invest in the appropriate infrastructure “to move energy as safely and efficiently as possible, now and into the future.”
