Texas Town Receives $3 Million for Water and Wastewater Upgrades

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has approved financial assistance in the amount of $2.82 million, consisting of a $1.73 million loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and a $1.09 million loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the city of Montgomery.
With the loans, the city will be able to construct a 10,000-gallon hydropneumatic tank, cooling tower, and 210,000-gallon ground storage tank, and install approximately 4,000 linear feet of water main to improve water flow and pressure. The funding will also enable the financing of wastewater system improvements, including the replacement of existing lift station pumps and the rerouting of existing pipeline. The project will also accommodate the planned widening of Farm-to-Market 149.
The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
