PECO Named Philadelphia's Best Midsize Employer
For the second year in a row, PECO has been named Philadelphia’s best midsize employer in a new ranking from Forbes magazine’s “America’s Best Employers 2017” list. The ranking represents PECO’s ongoing efforts to provide a rewarding workplace for more than 2,500 employees from the Greater Philadelphia area.
“At PECO, we foster a culture of teamwork and inclusion and to empower our employees, which results in better service for our customers and the communities we serve,” said Craig Adams, PECO president and CEO. “This recognition is a great testament to the commitment of every employee in making PECO an enjoyable and rewarding place to work.”
PECO is dedicated to providing its employees with the most rewarding work experience possible, helping people not just fill jobs, but create careers. The company is proud of its commitment to building an organization that resembles the communities it serves. PECO also supports nine different employee initiated resource groups, promoting diversity and inclusion and meaningful initiatives across the company.
PECO’s employees are dedicated to more than the company, they are committed to the region where they live and work. In 2016, employees set a new company record, dedicating more time and energy to local nonprofit organizations than ever before. Last year, PECO employees logged nearly 22,000 volunteer hours at more than 150 local nonprofits. PECO also provided more than $6 million in support to local community and nonprofit organizations, and has been recognized year-after-year as one of the region’s most impactful corporate citizens.
PECO’s parent company, Exelon, has taken major actions in the past year to support a culture of innovation and opportunity for employees. Exelon became the first utility company to sign the White House’s Equal Pay Pledge, and announced expanded family leave policies to provide paid time off for employees following the birth or adoption of a child, or when a family member is critically ill. Forbes named Exelon to its inaugural “Most Just” companies list, and the company has been recognized nationally by organizations that strive for equality and support for people with disabilities, LGBTQ, veterans and active military, youth, and more.
The Forbes “America’s Best Employers 2017” list is compiled from anonymous rankings by more than 30,000 employees.
