Vermeer launches compact MX150 mixing system for HDD operations
(UI) — Vermeer has introduced the MX150, a compact mixing system designed for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations. The MX150, equipped with a 7-hp (5.2-kW) Kohler gas engine, delivers a maximum flow of 150 gallons per minute (gpm) to ensure faster fluid mixing times, optimizing productivity in confined job sites.
"The Vermeer MX150 mixing system is designed to meet the needs of contractors working in increasingly compact jobsites," said Clint Recker, product manager of trenchless products at Vermeer. "With its powerful engine, efficient mixing capabilities, and flexible setup options, the MX150 enables crews to work efficiently without sacrificing valuable space."
The system can be paired with various tank sizes, including 300-gallon and 500-gallon options, offering flexibility for small to mid-size utility HDD projects. Its narrow tank width (24.4 inches) allows it to fit alongside mid-size utility directional drills, optimizing trailer space.
The MX150’s tank design ensures efficient mixing and minimizes sediment buildup. The system’s powerful engine, combined with its design, reduces yield times and boosts productivity. It also includes a garden hose fitting for easy cleaning of the hopper and machine, simplifying maintenance.
Maintenance is further improved with a high-grade seal for extended durability and a mud pump seal grease level indicator to help prolong component life. The system also allows users to configure the power unit with a hose outlet that can be directed to the back or side of the trailer for easy hookup.
With a 6-gallon fuel tank, the MX150 can handle a full day’s work. Winterization is also straightforward, thanks to removable hoses and accessible drain points.
