Vero completes first phase of fiber installation in Evans, Colo., expanding underground network
EVANS, Colo. (UI) — More than 1,500 homes and businesses in Evans now have access to high-speed fiber internet after the completion of phase 1 of Vero Fiber’s network expansion project.
Construction on the project began in late 2023 following a partnership between Vero Fiber and the City of Evans. The first customers were connected by early 2024. Due to strong demand, Vero expanded the scope of the project to additional neighborhoods, finishing phase 1 in early 2025.
"Evans has been an outstanding partner throughout this process," said Sunita Krishna, CEO of Vero Fiber. "We knew there was a need for better internet options here, but the enthusiasm from residents far exceeded our expectations. We're proud to be delivering a future-proof network that gives families the speed, service, and reliability they deserve."
With the completion of the first phase, most residents and businesses within city limits now have access to symmetrical gig-speed fiber service. Vero offers no contracts, data caps or hidden fees, and the company kept prices unchanged from 2024 to 2025.
"The arrival of fiber internet in Evans is a win for the community," said Evans Mayor Mark C. Clark. "More competition means better service and more choices for residents. Vero has been a responsive and reliable partner throughout construction and continues to be committed to the community."
Vero is currently evaluating interest in nearby areas as it considers future phases of construction.
