Texas Critical Data Centers to build 1,600-mile underground fiber network with GlobeLink

Texas Critical Data Centers (TCDC), a joint venture between New Era Energy & Digital and Sharon AI, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GlobeLink Holdings to develop a 1,600-mile underground fiber optic network across Texas.
The project aims to establish one of the state’s largest and fastest digital backbones, designed for artificial intelligence, hyperscale, and cloud computing workloads. With more than 30 terabits per second of capacity per fiber pair and latency under 5 milliseconds, the system will support mission-critical data applications and hyperscaler interconnects.
GlobeLink’s broader network infrastructure will ultimately span 2,400 miles of terrestrial and subsea fiber, linking major cities including Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Mexico City. The partnership is expected to enhance connectivity in underserved regions of West Texas while positioning the state as a leading hub for advanced digital infrastructure in North America.
The underground network will leverage Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to maximize capacity and resiliency. According to company officials, the project will also integrate with TCDC’s flagship data center campus in West Texas, which is being developed as a multi-tenant hub with more than 1 GW of digital infrastructure.
