Ezee Fiber begins Metro Detroit fiber-to-the-premises build
(UI) — Ezee Fiber will begin construction next week on a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network across Metro Detroit, marking its entry into the Michigan broadband market.
The Houston-based company said the initial build will target communities in Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, Genesee, St. Clair, Monroe and Livingston counties. Residential and business installations are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
The expansion represents a new Midwest footprint for Ezee Fiber, which plans to establish a regional headquarters in Michigan and hire construction crews, installation technicians and support staff locally.
"I'm proud to bring Ezee Fiber's award-winning multi-gig internet service to residences and businesses in Metro Detroit. Our customers will enjoy a significantly better internet experience driven by our advanced fiber internet," said Matt Marino, Chief Executive Officer of Ezee Fiber.
Greg Thomas, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ezee Fiber's Midwest Region, added, "We are excited for residents and businesses across the Motor City region to soon enjoy our best-in-class, multi-gig fiber internet."
The company said residential customers will have access to symmetrical speeds up to 8 gigabits per second, while business customers can receive dedicated service up to 100 gigabits per second. The network will serve single-family homes, multi-dwelling units, schools and commercial facilities.
Ezee Fiber said it will continue expanding into additional U.S. states throughout 2026.
