John Deere
John Deere launched the all-new 850 X-Tier Dozer and significant upgrades to the 700, 750 and 850 P-Tier Dozers. These advancements enhance power, precision and efficiency, helping operators maximize productivity while minimizing downtime.
Building on its legacy of E-Drive innovation, the 850 X-Tier Dozer sets impressive standards in power, efficiency and precision to dozer applications. The 850 X-Tier utilizes dual-path electric drive technology for added simplicity over traditional drivetrains and optimizes torque delivery and reduces machine complexity.
To enhance customer confidence, John Deere now offers the 850 X-Tier Dozer Electric Drive Component Assurance, providing 84 months/15,000 hours of coverage on key E-Drive components for qualified machines purchased between March 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026.
Building on the success of L-Series cab, the 850 X-Tier enhances operator comfort and visibility, featuring 14-percent more glass area, ergonomic controls and an Advanced Vision System for improved job-site awareness. Designed for minimal downtime, the dozer also features a tilting cab, allowing quick access to E-Drive components for easy diagnostics and maintenance.
John Deere enhanced the 700, 750, and 850 P-Tier Dozers with next-generation technology, to maximize job-site productivity. SmartGrade capabilities include EZGrade, SmartGrade ready with 2D grade control, and 3D SmartGrade, providing operators with precise grading control and enhanced situational awareness. The SmartGrade platform provides plug-and-play capabilities for laser and total station control, allowing customers access to more job sites. Larger touchscreen displays simplify navigation and setup for machine operation, ensuring a more intuitive experience.
Operator-focused features in the P-Tier and X-Tier models include heated and ventilated seat options, expanded storage and enhanced climate control, delivering greater comfort in all working conditions. Auto-load and carry automatically adjusts blade settings based on ground conditions, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
The 850 X-Tier Dozer and upgraded P-Tier dozers are impressive solutions for site preparation, grading and heavy-duty earthmoving applications.
Continuing to add to its suite of job-site technology solutions, John Deere also introduced SmartDetect Digital for select mid-size and large-size loaders. Building on the success of SmartDetect, available as an option on select loaders, the digital license component provides powerful insights that job-site managers can incorporate into their safety programs.
SmartDetect offers audible and visual alerts when objects, including bystanders, are detected behind the loader. It dynamically adjusts its alert system based on object proximity, escalating warnings as the machine gets closer to objects. With the addition of SmartDetect Digital, managers can respond more efficiently to job-site layout and traffic.
SmartDetect Digital builds on SmartDetect capabilities by integrating seamlessly with the John Deere Operations Center, unlocking even more sophisticated features and offering impressive data reporting.
Key benefits of SmartDetect Digital include:
- Near Real-Time Push Notifications. Job-site managers can receive near real-time push notifications for events, keeping everyone in the loop on potential safety risks.
- Event-Based Reporting. SmartDetect Digital documents each event, providing video footage for better analysis and helping customers improve their response strategies.
- Weekly Safety Summaries. Job-site managers get weekly reports on SmartDetect technology usage and event activity, providing valuable insights into how the system is performing and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Heat Map Analytics. The system offers customers event heat maps to optimize job-site layout and supports trend analysis for improved job-site decision-making and risk management.
- Easy-to-Use Mobile App. Operators and managers can access near real-time data and insights via a simple mobile app, wherever they are.
SmartDetect Digital is available for mid-size loaders manufactured after March 2023: P-Tier models: 444, 524, 544, 624, 644, 724, and the 644 X-Tier. Additionally, it’s available for large-size loaders manufactured after November 2022: P-Tier models: 744, 824, 844P, 904 and the 744 and 824 X-Tier models.
SPMR
SPMR LLC, a leading provider of utility data collection systems, implemented its innovative WorkSmart Work Order System for The Fort Worth Water Department. This state-of-the-art technology is set to revolutionize the way the department manages and executes its work orders, enhancing efficiency and service delivery for the community.
The WorkSmart Work Order System is designed to streamline operations by providing real-time updates and seamless communication between field crews and office staff. This system will enable the Fort Worth Water Department to respond more quickly to service requests, to reduce downtime, and to improve overall operational efficiency.
Key Features of the WorkSmart Work Order System include:
- Real-Time Updates. Field crews can now receive and update work orders instantly, ensuring that the most current information is always available.

- No Software Installation Needed. WorkSmart works strictly off a browser software package, so there is nothing to install. Whether you are a small utility without IT support, or a large utility with certain installation restrictions, this is no-hassle software when it comes to implementation.
Hyundai
Consistent with its plans to offer more product choices, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America introduced the 25,221-pound (11,440 kg) HW100A to its lineup of wheeled excavators, which ranges from the R55W-9A at 12,240 pounds (5,552 kg) to the 46,690-pound (21,178 kg) HW210A.

Digging to a depth of 13 feet 11 inches and delivering 101 net horsepower, the Hyundai HW100A is powerful enough for a variety of applications, yet is particularly suited for road and bridge work, roadside projects and other jobs where the ability to move on paved surfaces is critical. Its compact size, 360-degree swing capability and articulated boom allow it to work in congested and tight spaces where larger equipment can’t.
This new Hyundai compact excavator features a spacious cab with a full-length glass door for ease of entry and egress, as well as a heated, air-suspension seat and other comfort-related features. For safety, HW100A also comes standard with right and rearview cameras, LED light package and other features Hyundai equipment is known for. Like other Hyundai wheeled excavators, this unit has the options of AAVM (all-around view monitoring) and rear radar for added job safety and peace of mind when working in congested spaces.
With a maximum speed of 24 miles per hour (39 kph), HW100A offers three steering modes:
- Four-wheel round, which provides the tightest turning radius, with the traction and control needed for operating on rough terrain
- Four-wheel crab, which provides the ability to maneuver diagonally
- Two-wheel steering, which delivers better fuel economy while still providing agile handling
They have four work modes to choose from:
- One-way setting lets operators control boom and bucket operation independently for precision tasks like leveling and fine grading.
- Two-way setting synchronizes operation of the boom and bucket, which is more efficient for high-production tasks like truck loading and trenching.
- Digging setting provides optimum efficiency and power for heavy-duty excavation tasks, such as for foundation work.
- Lifting setting works best for applications that involve lifting, moving and placing heavy objects or materials for sanitation and utility work
Operators can also select from three power modes – Power, Standard and Economy – to match power and efficiency to the job at hand.
The Hyundai HW100A comes standard with a two-piece boom for enhanced reach and versatility, a front bucket rest, and a rear dozer blade. It is also equipped with quick coupler piping and selectable control pattern (ISO/SAE) for operator preference. Optional configurations include four outriggers or a front dozer blade with rear outriggers to suit various customer needs.
Additional standard features include an 8-inch touchscreen display, long-life brakes, and five years of Hyundai’s proprietary Hi MATE telematics for remote monitoring and support.
Bobcat
Bobcat Company, a global equipment, innovation and worksite solutions brand, is expanding its product lineup with new heavy construction equipment. Four new large wheel loaders and two new large excavators will be available at select North American Bobcat dealerships in mid-Q2 2025.
New to the Bobcat lineup are the L205, L235, L255 and L285 large wheel loaders. These loaders are purpose-built for big load-and-carry tasks, offering a powerful solution for construction, agriculture, manufacturing and more.
From building infrastructure to moving materials or doing expansive site prep, Bobcat large wheel loaders offer the strength, comfort and reliability needed to tackle the toughest challenges.
Built for high-production lifting, the large wheel loaders’ bucket capacity varies by model: 2.5 cubic yards for the L205, 3 cubic yards for the L235, and 3.5 cubic yards for both the L255 and L285.
The L235, L255 and L285 come standard with three transmission modes so operators can customize their performance for unique working conditions with the following modes:
- Manual: Provides precise speed control
- Auto 1-4: Automatically shifts up or down depending on power and torque required for the task
- Auto 2-4: Offers performance and flexibility for lighter-duty tasks with manual kickdown that automatically shifts between gears 2 through 4
All four new large wheel loaders feature three power modes to allow operators to choose between maximizing performance with power mode, handling daily tasks in normal mode or minimizing fuel consumption with economy mode.
All models are powered by a turbo-charged Tier 4 engine, which offers consistent performance at all elevations.
The machine’s design prioritizes operator comfort to keep productivity high and fatigue low.
Bobcat is expanding its lineup of large excavators with the E220 and E245. These new excavators deliver the power, performance and precision needed for the biggest job-site challenges.
With fast cycle times, impressive digging forces and high-lifting capabilities, the new conventional-tail-swing E220 and reduced-tail-swing E245 help operators confidently handle large-scale projects, like commercial and residential construction, roadwork, infrastructure and more.
These large excavators have the size and weight combination for increased digging performance, with the E220 offering a digging depth of 21 feet, 7 inches and the E245 offering 21 feet, 11 inches. Both models have a bucket digging force of 35,464 foot-pounds. Precision is amplified thanks to their fine swing feature, which allows the excavators’ upper structure to come to a smooth, gradual stop and reduce spillage on the job.
Equipped with Tier 4 engines, these excavators meet emissions compliance without needing a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This results in simpler maintenance and eliminates downtime caused by DPF regeneration.
The excavators offer four selectable power modes for operators to set their performance for the demands of the job – whether that is efficient fuel consumption or all-out power for tough digging and heavy lifting:
- Power+ mode: Top work group speed to load trucks in less time or sustain peak digging performance when opening up hard ground
- Power mode: Impressive power and performance for tough digging, quick loading and heavy lifting, and increased travel speed
- Standard mode: Balanced performance and reduced fuel usage for routine digging, lifting and grading
- Economy mode: Optimize fuel economy when power demands are lower or when doing precise digging and fine grading
The excavators’ Smart Power Control will match load to engine RPM, hydraulic pump torque and engine response, improving efficiency in any of the four power modes.
Other key features of the E220 and E245 include:
- Steel tracks
- Four standard work modes: One-way flow, two-way flow, digging and lifting
- 8-Inch touch display with Bluetooth
- Side- and rear-view camera
- Standard premium air-suspension, heated seat
- LED work lights
The large excavators come standard with two-way piping controlled by thumb wheel or foot pedal, along with stand hydraulic quick coupler piping. Several attachments will be available.
The E220 and E245 join other large Bobcat excavators, the E145 and E165, along with a range of compact excavators from 1- to 10-ton options.
