The Ohio EPA has awarded more than $5.8 million in funding for water and sewer construction infrastructure upgrades. The projects receiving funding include:
- $1.66 million to the village of Montpelier to continue separating wastewater and storm sewers, a continuing project that will eliminate combined sewer overflows by the end of 2026.
- $1.07 million to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District in Bowling Green to replace a water line along Curtice Road in Northwood. In addition to replacing aging infrastructure, the project will eliminate a dead end by installing a loop.
- $1.76 million to the city of Oregon is to reduce storm water infiltration and inflow into the city’s sanitary sewer, eliminating sanitary sewer overflows and improving water quality in Maumee Bay. The project will rehabilitate sanitary sewer mainlines, laterals and manholes in the East Hollywood, Ketcham’s Home Gardens, Eastern Plains and Moundview Park subdivisions.
- $202,800 to the City of New Boston to improve water quality by making sewer improvements designed to prevent excess storm water from entering sanitary sewer lines.
- $1.131 million to the village of Georgetown to fund the replacement of aging and deteriorating water lines and increase flow and improve drinking water quality in the village. The project includes replacing water mains in downtown Georgetown to reduce the frequency of water main breaks and to connect key areas currently served by undersized water mains with 8-inch diameter pipes, improving water flow and pressure.
