SJW Group to Purchase Deer Creek Ranch Water System Assets
SJW Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SJWTX, Inc., has entered into an agreement to purchase Deer Creek Ranch Water Co., LLC’s water system assets. The system includes approximately 750 service connections over an area of 1,191 acres in Hays and Travis counties on the rapidly growing western fringe of the Austin metropolitan area and is located about 40 miles north of SJWTX, Inc.’s existing water system in Comal County. The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval by the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
According to Eric W. Thornburg, President and Chief Executive Officer of SJW Group, the execution of the agreement is a step forward for all stakeholders to secure long-term and high quality water service for customers in an economically vibrant region.
