Rhode Island seeks input on Woonsocket's clean water infrastructure replacement plan
(UI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) has issued a public notice seeking feedback on the proposed 2023 update to the Clean Water Infrastructure Replacement Plan (CWIRP) for the City of Woonsocket Water Department.
The city of Woonsocket Water Department has drafted an updated CWIRP in compliance with Chapter 46-15.6 of the General Laws of Rhode Island and the "Clean Water Infrastructure Plan" Regulations (216-RICR-50-05-7). The complete updated document is available for review at the Rhode Island Department of Health's Center for Drinking Water Quality, located at Three Capitol Hill, Room 209, Providence, RI 02908, during regular weekday hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Written comments on the proposed plan should be submitted to the Center for Drinking Water Quality either by mail or email to DOH.RIDWQ@health.ri.gov within 30 days of this notice.
Should a request for a public comment hearing on the proposed categorical exclusion be made by 25 persons, a governmental agency, or an association with no fewer than 25 members within 10 days of the publication of this notice, a hearing will be scheduled. If such a hearing is warranted, it will be open to the public, recorded, and held at least five days before the end of the public comment period. Requests for a public comment hearing should be directed to the Center for Drinking Water Quality.
If requested by 4:30 p.m. on February 23, 2024, a public comment hearing will take place as follows:

Interested individuals are advised to contact RIDOH to confirm the scheduling of the hearing.
The public comment hearing will include a stenographic record, and the public record will remain open for seven days following the conclusion of the hearing to accommodate additional written submissions.
