Pennsylvania secures over half a million dollars in grants for stormwater management upgrades
(UI) — State Rep. Nancy Guenst, D-Montgomery, has announced $546,221 in grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority has been awarded for stormwater management improvements in her district.
"Empowering our community through proactive stormwater management, these grants mark a significant investment in the resilience and environmental well-being of our district,” Guenst said. “With over $500,000 dedicated to projects like swale and stormwater improvements, we are not only addressing immediate needs but fostering a sustainable future for generations to come. This support from the CFA exemplifies our shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our community through strategic and impactful initiatives.”
The following grants have been awarded:
- $347,627 to restore and remediate a swale in Hatboro Borough.
- $198,594 to install a stormwater line on Red Lion Road in Lower Moreland Township.
The Small Water and Sewer Program funds activities to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, and storm sewer system projects.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
