$4 million water main replacement project underway in Austin, Texas
(WO) – According to Aqua Texas, a $4 million water main replacement project is underway in Hays County near Austin, Texas. The investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program focused on water preservation.
The work kicked off on Monday, April 29, in the Woodcreek North community. Crews will be working to replace 5,000 ft of aging water mains. This is the first phase of the project which will ultimately replace more than 25,000 ft of mains in the community.
“Aqua is focusing a lot of money and time into this community, and my top priority is conserving water and fixing leaks,” said Area Manager Joseph McDaniel. “I’m proud to work with the people who live in Woodcreek to preserve Wimberley’s water resources, both now and in the future.
This investment will continue to advance water service reliability, reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
Aqua Texas is a subsidiary of Essential Utilities Inc. It currently provides approximately 286,000 people in 53 counties across the Lone Star State with water and wastewater services.
