California American Water completes $2.2 million San Diego water infrastructure upgrades
(UI) – California American Water recently completed the Grove Avenue Water Main Replacement Project in South San Diego, replacing 2,400 linear feet of aging 8-inch steel water main with new PVC main, installing new service pipes for 22 customers, upgrading five fire hydrants, and replacing 19 gate valves.
“The Grove Water Main Replacement Project is part of California American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to renew water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life,” said Jessica Taylor, Director of Operations, Southern Division, California American Water. “Our important work in South San Diego makes our system more durable, less prone to corrosion, and less likely to burst – meaning fewer service disruptions and increased reliability for our customers for many years to come.”
California American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, provides high-quality and reliable water and wastewater services to approximately 700,000 people. Investing in water infrastructure is not just about safeguarding public health and the environment; it’s also about laying the groundwork for economic prosperity.
