SAERTEX multiCom opens production facility in North Carolina
(UC) — SAERTEX multiCom has opened a new production and warehouse building in the Huntersville, North Carolina. The company invested over $20 million into the 110,000 sq ft (10,500 m2) infrastructure, creating more than 40 new job opportunities in Mecklenburg County since its establishment.
"With the opening of the new production in Huntersville, we have implemented an important cornerstone for our global strategic growth plan," Kai Diecks, global managing director of the SAERTEX multiCom Group, said. "The new state-of-the-art production will allow us to expand both our local product portfolio and our on-site production capacity. The new plant also improves our logistics and storage capacities."
The new facility will be used to optimize numerous processes including producing its SAERTEX-LINER MULTI up to a nominal diameter of 48-inch (DN 1200). By year-end, SAERTEX will be able to produce diameters up to 64-inch (DN 1600) with wall thicknesses up to 15 mm.
Additionally, the new plant includes an own in-house resin impregnation. This will enable the company to impregnate its GRP liners itself rather than outsourcing. The plant also features training rooms to help increase customer service.
In March, the company successfully delivered and installed its first self-impregnated SAERTEX-LINERS from the Huntersville plant to customers.
"The new plant underlines our commitment to our customers in North America,” Klaus Langenbach, managing director of SAERTEX multiCom LP, said. “With the new production facilities, we can optimally address the local requirements of our customers. As a solution provider in the UV-CIPP market, we will use the new administrative space to help our customers train their construction crews."
