CST expands Midwest footprint with Indiana underground drilling acquisition
(UI) — CST Utilities has acquired Indiana-based Daystar Directional Drilling, expanding its underground utility services footprint into Indiana. The deal takes effect July 15, 2025, with Daystar operating as part of the CST Utilities group.
The acquisition adds horizontal directional drilling (HDD) services across central Indiana to CST’s existing Midwest portfolio. Daystar, headquartered in Noblesville, Indiana, has provided HDD and underground utility services since 2002.

Daystar’s founder, Jerry Watson III, will continue leading the Indiana operations and will retain an ownership stake in the combined company.

CST Utilities is an Ohio-based infrastructure services firm specializing in excavation, underground utility installation, and maintenance services for electric, gas, water, and telecom utilities. The company has more than 50 years of experience serving central Ohio and surrounding regions.
