United Rentals’ Wedge named Industrial IoT Product of the Year
(UI) — United Rentals' Wedge remote monitoring platform has been named a 2026 Industrial IoT Product of the Year by TMC, recognizing technology that uses connected devices and real-time data to improve industrial operations.
The Wedge platform allows contractors, industrial operators and infrastructure project teams to remotely monitor equipment, environmental conditions and other jobsite factors. The system is designed to provide real-time data that can help users identify issues, reduce operational risks and improve project performance.
The technology is part of United Rentals' Worksite Performance Solutions portfolio, which combines equipment, monitoring tools and data analytics to provide greater visibility into jobsite operations.
Kristen Bauer of United Rentals said the recognition reflects the growing role connected technologies play in supporting project decision-making.
“We're honored that Wedge has been recognized with this award because it reflects the value connected technology can deliver to our customers every day,” Bauer said. “Wedge is part of our broader vision for a connected worksite where real-time data helps customers make faster decisions, reduce risk and keep projects moving forward.”
According to United Rentals, the platform is used across construction, industrial, infrastructure and temporary power applications to monitor changing conditions and improve operational awareness. The company said the award highlights continued investment in digital technologies aimed at improving safety, productivity and equipment uptime.
